Gladys T. Bare, 85, of Douglass, died today at Douglass Medicalodge.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thrusday at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery. Rev. Dan Ferguson will officiate the service.
Bare was born July 21, 1902, to Miller and Lillian Van Sickle King in Ottawa.
On Oct. 8, 1937, she married Paul C. Bare. He survives.
Bare received a degree in music education from Emporia State Teachers College. She taught music in various Kansas communities and taught part time in the Douglass and Rose Hill school systems after getting married. She also gave private music lessons and was a member of the Douglass United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, Jim of Chadds Ford, PA; two grandsons; sister-in-law, Marjorie Bare of Douglass.
Memorial has been established with the organ fund of the Methodist Church.
