Charles S. King, 86 of Jesup, Ga. died Sunday, December 20, 2009 in Baptist Village in Waycross, Ga. after an extended illness. The Tattnall County, Ga. native was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church, a retired iron worker with Savannah Sugar Refinery and a member of the International Brotherhood of Iron Workers Union # 709 of Savannah, Ga. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and loved to fish and garden. He was predeceased by his wife: Blanche King and a son: Leonard Charles King.
Survivors are a son: Robert and Debbie King of Savannah, Ga.; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday from Altamaha Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Altamaha Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Sammy Tilley, Jimmy Tilley, Tom Tilley, Allen Thompson, Aver Thompson, and Steve Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be the adult Sunday School Class of Altamaha Baptist Church.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services from Altamaha Baptist Church
