Richard Allen King, age 56, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011. He was born in Rockingham County, NC on March 26, 1955.


He was General Manager for Unifirst Corporation with 30 years of service.


Richard will be remembered as a devoted father and Paw Paw who enjoyed the outdoors and riding his motorcycle.


He leaves behind two daughters, Amber Clark and husband Josh of Wilmington and Jessica King of Rocky Mount; son, Heath King and wife Paige of Nashville; parents, Marvin and Mercy King of Kernersville; brothers, Danny King and Tony King and wife Lisa of Kernersville; three grandchildren, Anna, Kara, and Leah King, all of Nashville; and three nephews, Samuel, Matthew and Brandon King, all of Kernersville. Richard will also be remembered by his fiance, Gina Webb and her daughter, Lacey of Rocky Mount; and the mother of his children, Sharon Derbyshire of Rocky Mount.


The family will receive friends and relatives 7:00pm to 9:00pm Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at 11:00am Friday, May 27, 2011 at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church, 3732 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount NC with Rev. Darrell Greene officiating.


Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount NC 27804.
