My great grandmother, Clara Leona (Erway) Goalden adored Myrtia King. They were best friends for so many years. She cared for and had great love for Myrtia. My great grandmother, Clara also took care of George and Myrtia s children as Myrtia was very ill and simply could not.
Grandma Clara also fed and took care of all of the farm hands and there were many. She did all of the things needed for everyone and did her best to help this family that she loved. She did this while also taking care of her own two children who stayed at the farm with her.
After a lengthy illness Myrtia passed on. My great grandmother stayed on at the King farm continuing to care for everyone and working there.
As time passed my great grandmother and George married. They had a good and respectable and kind marriage. My family speaks very fondly of great grandpa George King and also Myrtia.
When great grandpa George died my great grandmother Clara left the farm with her two children and moved on.
