Ruth Elizabeth King of 400 W. 7th Street, North Manchester, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 5:24 a.m. at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester at the age of 93.
She was born on August 1, 1917 in Atlanta, Georgia to Herbert Clark and Mary Izora (Nelms) Clark. Ruth was then married to Paul Wesley King, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. King was a homemaker, living in Wabash County, Indiana for the past six years residing at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester. She attended Harvest Community Church in Pierceton, Indiana, and was a member of Tenth Street United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia for 45 years. For a number of years she worked as an Atlanta Traffic Officer, and she was a true Southern-Belle.
She is survived by her beloved son, Rodney (wife Nancy) King (South Whitley, Indiana), two granddaughters: Shea King and Dawn Baldridge; one grandson: Dan Moon; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, and one brother.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 4-6:00 p.m. with her funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana officiated by Pastor Glenn Hall and Pastor Hedgel Lee Perry. Burial will be at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta, Georgia
