ANDERSON, Ind. — Opal (Buckles) King, 96, of Anderson, died peacefully in her sleep at Community Northview Care Center on Monday, Dec. 13, 2010.
She was born Sept. 6, 1914, in Jennings County, Ind., to Tom and Minnie Buckles.
She worked production at Delco Remy for 17 years and was a Methodist.
She is survived by sons, Scott (Carol) King and Joe (Sandy) Manis; sister, Daisy Mottsinger; eight grandchildren, Brett, Benjamin, Geri, Keri Manis, Shannon Maddox, Melanie Greer, Christopher Maddox and Roxie Greer; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond King; brother, Tom Buckles; and two sisters, Mary Kreisher and Georgia Faulds.
Visitation will be on Thursday, from 10-11 a.m. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
