Margie Luella (King) Gellinger, 86, Anderson, died Oct. 10, 2007, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Burnt Prairie, Ill. She was co-owner/operator of Gellinger's Food Market at 23rd and Pearl streets for 30 years.
She was a devoted wife and mother and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann (Gellinger) Shaffer of Anderson; son and daughter-in-law, Larry J. and Fran Gellinger of Seminole, Fla.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Viola and Jack Baker, and Ruth Meek all of Anderson; brother and sisters-in-law, Ted and Mary Jo King of Anderson, and Lyla Norris of Carmel; seven grandchildren and spouses, Dirk and April Shaffer of Anderson, Dave and Candace Shaffer of Daleville, Dan and Kellena Shaffer of Chesterfield, Dean and Denise Shaffer of Anderson, Mike and Darylann Gellinger of Middletown, Rick Gellinger of Anderson, and Julie Steele of Port Charlotte, Fla.; stepgranddaughters, Amy Delk of Spring Hill, Fla., Kristen and Robert Lassiter of Largo, Fla.; 13 great-grandchildren, Kate Shaffer of Anderson, Tyler Davis of Daleville, Alex and Hannah Shaffer of Chesterfield, John and Lily Shaffer of Anderson, Phillip Tyler Gellinger of Naples, Fla., Jordan and Loren Gellinger of Middletown, Kory, Keelie, and Kameron Gellinger of Fort Myers, Fla., Scott Steele of Fort Myers, Fla., and Nicole Steele of Port Charlotte, Fla.; six stepgrandchildren, Eryn and Garet Delk of Spring Hill, Fla., Cody, Brody and Josiah and Janae Lassiter of Largo, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the staff of Preferred Family Physicians and Community Home Health Services Hospice, and special friends, Brenda Gellinger, Sande Williams, Walter and Betty Copeland and Carolyn Moon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gellinger; her parents, Elmer and Agnes (Carter) King; a granddaughter, Daphane Ann Shaffer; a sister, Alma Ellis; a brother, Gerald King; niece, Linda (Stanley) Hickham; and a nephew, Duane Bennett.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. William Mathys of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Community Home Health Services Hospice.
