Mrs. Joyce A. Danforth, 63, died Wednesday afternoon (August 23, 2003) at her residence after an extended illness.
She is a native of Brantley County, but she has lived most of her life in Waycross. She was a waitress and homemaker. She was also a member of Philippian Worship Center in Hoboken.
She is the daughter of the late A. B. King and Azalee Jacobs King. She is the wife of the late William J. ''Bill'' Danforth.
She is survived by her son, Michael Hickox of Alamo; three grandchildren, Sean, Brittany and Kristin; a brother, James King (wife Ruth) of Waycross; a sister, Lea Hiers (husband Frank) of Valdosta; a sister-in-law, Suenell King of Waycross; a step-daughter, Linda Glaser (husband James) of Ft. Pierce, FL; two step-grandchildren, Jared and Hayley; three nephews and a niece.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday (August 23, 2003) at the Philippian Worship Center. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Music Funeral Home.
