KING - At the home of her son-in-law, Mr George Dickey, near Laranseville, on Monday, February 11, 1880, Mrs Mary King, in the 81st year of her age. Mrs King was the daughter of William Rush and was born and reared in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, this County. She was the wife of Messimore King, who, about four years ago, preceded her to the Spirit Land. Many years ago she became a member of the Regular Baptist Church at Turkeyfoot, and in later years became a member of the Baptist Church at Donegal, Westmoreland Co, of which a church she was a consistent member at the time of her death. The last few years of her life were attended with great physical suffering, which she endured with Christian resignation and fortitude. During the many years she spent in married life, she was to her husband an helpmate indeed, always giving to the management of their household those attentions by which the prudent wife and mother seeks to make home pleasant ant attractive. She leaves to mourn her death three sons and two daughters, whose standing in the respective communities in which they reside, give proof of the virtuous training of a mother whose plans and labors during all their lives embraced their good. She was laid to rest by the side of the mortal remains of her late husband, in the Barron's church cemetery, on Wednesday, the 13th last. A memorial sermon was preached on the occasion by the Rev Hiram King, of Somerset, based upon the 10th verse of the 2nd chapter of Phillipians.
