Death apparently was due to natural causes, according to Coroner W.C. Telford. Mrs. Ayre was found apparently dead in her bedroom by a son, Ricky, 10. An inquiry will be held.
She was born in Springfield, the daughter of Arthur John and Rena Kellum Kimpel.
Mrs. Ayre was a graduate of Springfield High School and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Rena Kimpel, and one son, John Richard Ayre, both of Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Hardy of Joilet, and Mrs. Alma Lou Turner of Tucson, Ariz.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bisch Memorial Home with Rev. William Roth officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
