Our Mom was born to Everett and Ione Kimble, a local pioneer family in Bakersfield. She graduated from KCUHS in 1929, married Rex Napier, and her 3 sons were born. In 1942 she married our beloved Pop, Carl H. Davis when her boys were still young and this union lasted until he died in 1986. During WWII, she worked as many patriotic young women did as Rosie the Riveter and later worked at Bucks Dept. Store. After that, Carls job with the oil industry took them many places to live, including Seattle, Anchorage, Las Vegas, Roosevelt and St. George, Utah. She made many friends along the way. After Pops death, she settled back in Bakersfield. Her last 2 years were spent happily with many friends and caring staff members at Emmanuel Parkview Care Facility. There she loved her bingo, trivia games, parties, hair and nail care and other activities too numerous to mention.
In Moms own words, her special achievements of her life were my three fine sons and their families which she leaves behind. They are Don and Adelaide of Denver, Ken and Val of Los Gatos, Gary and Pat Napier of Bakersfield; grandchildren are Kari, Mike, Diane, Colleen, Tony and their spouses; great-grandchildren are Alyssa, Kodee, Valerie, Jennifer, Jared, John, Joe, John and Samantha. She also leaves behind her other boys whom she loved dearly like sons, Bob, Jack and Pete Kimble, Lewis, Jim, Bob, Richard and Fred Chase, their spouses and families. In addition were many cousins and second cousins and she loved them all. Preceding her in death were her spouses, her parents and her brothers, Raymond, Willard and their spouses.
Mom loved flowers, but for those who prefer donations instead of flowers, the Bakersfield SPCA always welcomes help, or the charity of your choice.
Visitation is Wed., Feb. 26 from 4-8 p.m. Services will be held Thurs., Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. at Mish Funeral Home in Oildale, (661) 399-9391. Interment at Union Cemetery, reception at First Nazarene Church on Hughes Lane. Pallbearers will be Gary Napier; Bob, Jack and Pete Kimble; Lewis and Fred Chase.
