The Reverend Darrell Blane Kilpatrick, 73, of Campbell, Texas, died at his residence on October 29, 2013, after a valiant battle with multiple myeloma cancer. Born in Newton-Conover, NC to the late James Walter and Beulah Helton Kilpatrick, he served in the US Army and is a graduate of Lee University and the Church of God School of Theology. Ordained in the Church of God (Cleveland, TN), he served congregations in Idaho and Texas. He retired after 25 years from H&G Systems, Inc. of Garland, Texas. He is preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Austin and Meral Kilpatrick, and one sister, Frances Leatherman. Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Beunie Scronce Kilpatrick, and his four daughters and their spouses: Bethany and Brady Byrum of Mesquite, TX; Amy and Charley Thibodeaux of Garland, TX; Cynthia Kilpatrick and Patrick Loc of Arlington, TX; and Darrell and Josh Berryman of Mesquite, TX. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, four brothers (Roy Kilpatrick of Conover, NC; Clifton Kilpatrick of Rapid City, SD; Donald Kilpatrick of Lusby, MD, and Jimmy Kilpatrick of Swannanoa, NC), two sisters (Polly Croghan and Linda Calloway, both of Swannanoa, NC), and numerous additional family and friends. The funeral will be conducted by Bishops Lawrence Ownbey and Nathan Bounds at 2pm on Thursday, October 31, at Lynch Funeral Home's Greenville Chapel. In honor of his military service, he will be buried at a later date at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society of Hunt County.
