Amy L. Kienzle
DUBUQUE, Iowa - Amy L. Kienzle, 83, of Dubuque died March 17, 2008, at Dubuque Rehab and Nursing Center.
She was born Sept. 23, 1924, in Dubuque, the daughter of Ernest and Emma (Rosencrance) Johnston. She married Raymond Kienzle of Scales Mound on Aug. 25, 1946, at Grandview Methodist Church in Dubuque. Together they farmed in Council Hill Township for 40 years.
She attended Senior High School of Dubuque. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Galena and taught Sunday school for more than 20 years. She was an election judge in the Council Hill precinct.
Surviving are her husband, Ray; five children, Pamela Jenn of Marietta, Ga., Linda (Rodger) Lamont of Oshkosh, Wis., Janel (Steve) Geisert of Galena, William (Lisa) Kienzle of Chatham and Kevin Kienzle and friend, Julene Coates, of Dubuque, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, with a fifth due in June; and a niece, Diane (Donald) Latham of The Villages, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary; and a brother, Ernest E. Johnston Jr.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Miller Funeral Home of East Dubuque. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, at St. Luke's Methodist Church in Dubuque. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Galena.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name.
