Cleon Lenford Kibbe, age 87 of Harrison Valley passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 with his family by his side. Born October 4, 1928 in Potter Brook, he was the son of the late Ivan and Myra (Outman) Kibbe. He married Betty Jean Metcalf on August 14, 1948.

Cleon served 2 years in the US Navy on the USS North Carolina, worked 41 years for Consolidated Natural Gas Company and was a successful farmer and business partner of Kibbe Oil & Gas. He was a member of the Lewisville Lodge #556 F & AM in Ulysses for 57 years, was a pilot and enjoyed flying his own planes. He loved spending weekends at his cottage on Keuka Lake with his family and friends, loved fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing guitar and playing poker with the boys. Cleon always put his family first and made sure each and every one were taken care of.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty Jean Kibbe; two children, Maria J. Kibbe and David M. (Mary Dehner) Kibbe; his grandchildren, Matthew (Whitney Schlimm) Kibbe, Travis (Neena) Brown and Sasha (PJ) Stiles; great grandchildren, Dalton (Brittany Haskins) Kibbe, Preston Kibbe, Lyndsey Wheeler, Tanyon Brown, Kayden Brown, Emma Haynes, Jaycee Stiles and Preslee Stiles; great great grandchild expecting in Sept. 2016, Oaklynn Kibbe; brothers, Ivan L. “Ike” Kibbe, Jr., Russell L. Kibbe and Theodore Kibbe; two sisters, Betty Metcalf and Loveda (Dale) Potter and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, infants Violet and Mary Lou, Arloene Jones, Virginia Lampman and Beverly Tormey; two brothers, Byron “Jum” Kibbe and Jacob H. Kibbe and a grandson, Joshua C. Wheeler.

Family will receive friends at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 222 W. Main St., Westfield on Sunday, August 21st, 1:00 – 3:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Cleon’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Tioga Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
