Rites Scheduled For Myrtle May, 88, in Wichita
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle A. May, 83, of 502 S. Meridian, who died Saturday at her home, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Culbertson Mortuary.
The Rev. John Greenlee, pastor of West Side Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.
Mrs. May was born April 8, 1876, at Leavenworth, Kan., and came to Wichita in 1921 from Pocatello, Idaho. She was a self-employed machine quilter. Her husband, James A. May, died in 1950.
She was a member of West Side Christian Church, Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, White Shrine, Daughters of the American Revolution, Pocahantas Lodge and Golden Age Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Tally, 427 N. Edwards, and Mrs. Gladys Butler, Gainesville, Tex.; a son, James A. May Jr., Kennewick, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Burnidge, Littletown, Colo.; a brother, Walter E. Kibbe, 2020 Fairview; and six grandchildren.
