MRS. CAROLINE KISER ALDER-
DICE, OVER 80 YEARS OLD,
PASSES AWAY
Death Occurred Friday at Home of her son, William Alderdice, on North Davis Street—
Mrs. Caroline Kiser Alderdice, an aged and highly respected resident of this city, passed away yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the advanced age of 84 years, 11 months and 7 days.
Death occurred at the home of her son William Alderdice, 128 North Davis street. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Second Congregational church.
Rev. Isaac Cookman will conduct the services. Interment will be made in the Shaul cemetery.
Mrs. Alderdice was born in York, Pennsylvania.' She removed to Illinois in July, 1855, and remained there until 1872, when she removed to Barton county, Missouri. In 1874 she came to this city, which since has been her home except for a period of four years
which she spent in Caldwell county Mo. She was united in marriage to Jacob Alderdice at Little York, Penn.
Nine children were born to this union, five of whom are living. They are William Alderdice, Mrs. Anna Roland. S. K. Alderdice and J. W. Alderdice, of Ottumwa, and M. F. Alderdice, of Polo, Mo. Three sisters, residing in York, Penn., also survive. Mrs. Alderdice was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away in 1866, since which time, she has made her home with her son. Early in life, Mrs. Alderdice united, with the church and for many years had been a consistentand earnest member of the Congregational church. In church work, Mrs. Alderdice was noted for her zeal and
devotion for the cause of Christ. She was a kind and loving mother and sincere friend, and her loss will be most keenly felt by a wide circle of friends.
