Herbert Franklin Keys, 81, of 7700 Aden Road, Manassas, died Jan. 22 at Prince William Hospital, Manassas.
Born at Brentsville in March 1891, he was a lifetime resident of Prince William County. He retired in the 1950's from government service after working for the Navy Yard and the Department of Navy.
The widower of Lillie Belle Keys, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Patsy Wood of Manassas and Mrs. Mildred Runion of Independent Hill and four sons, Gordon T. of Woodbridge, Franklin E. of Independent Hill, Allen E. of Manassas and Samuel R. Keys of Independent Hill. He also was the father of the late Mrs. Susie Slusarz and the late Worth Keys.
Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Minnie Counts of Manassas; two brothers, Joseph C. of Brentsville and Cash Keys of Florida; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Baker Funeral Home, 9320 West Street, Manassas, where funeral services will be held tomorrow (Jan. 25) at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery.
