Day, Dorothy "Dot" Miriam 89, of Centerville, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Woodglen Alzheimer's Community. She was born January 21, 1922 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Oscar P. and Edith Marie (Lesher) Keyes. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Vernon K. Day, whom she married on May 17, 1941 and by her sister, Eileen Keyes Day. She is survived by her son, Steve Day of Miamisburg, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Kathi and Paul Gruner of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jen Day (Mariann Fahrenholz) of Worthington, Ohio, Melissa Gruner (Greg) Lavender of Erlanger, Kentucky and Bill Gruner of Dayton, Ohio; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Stephen Kimpel of Faith Lutheran Church, Dayton, Ohio officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery.
