Irena Key, age 82, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, formerly of Russellville, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the home of her daughter. A daughter of the late Oscar S. and Maude Barnes Foster, she was born April 23, 1927 in Ola. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was the widow of Jack B. Key, and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Aubury Quarles; three brothers: Benny, Floyd and Claudia Foster; and four sisters: Lillian Smith, Bessielee Smith, Reba Williams and Vera Hayes.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Robert Burrows of Simpsonville; two sisters: Ruby Lacey of Ola; and Juanita Hutchins of Knoxville, Tennessee; and a granddaughter, Jacqueline Burrows of Simpsonville.
The graveside service and burial will be at 10 A.M. on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Casa Cemetery in Casa, Arkansas, officiated by the Rev. Rocky Goodwin. Arrangements are by Shinn Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be O. J. Williams, Jackie Williams, Jackie Foster, James Allen Pitts, Jimmy Foster and Jimmy Foster II.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 5 to 6 P.M., at the funeral home.
