Bobbie Lee Becorest, 74, of Roscoe left this earthly life Sunday, June 14, 2009. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she died with her family at her bedside. Bobbie was born in Mississippi to Leola and Ollis Key, raised in Missouri, then spent the majority of her ultimately-fulfilled life in the Rockford area.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Machesney Park, an enthusiastic gospel pianist who blessed hundreds of worshipers, and a retired piano teacher. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 2955 in Roscoe.
Bobbie leaves behind, only temporarily, her loving husband, Beech; sons, Darrell (Theresa) Gregory, Scott (Priscilla) Gregory, Todd (Marla) Gregory; daughter, Lisa (George) Miller. also mourning her are grandchildren, Zachary (Jill), Matthew, James, Caitlin, Tara, Austin, Julia, Lillian; great-grandsons, Blake and Logan; sister, JoAnn Simmons.
Predeceased by parents and brother, Charles Ballard. No more tears, ye who are weary come home.
Services were held Wed., June 17, in First Baptist Church of Machesney Park with the Rev. Kevin Kerr officiating.
