KETTLER Margaret Ellen On Sunday, March 9, 2008, Margaret Ellen went home to be with the Lord. Preceding her in death was her husband, Charles Kettler, who died August 24, 1979. Margaret was born in Salem, Missouri to Floyd and Leoda Sunderlin on September 12, 1915. After graduating from Salem High School in 1934, she moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she met and married Charles in 1937. Margaret Ellen and Charles had two children, Melissa and John. Margaret Ellen was active in her church, taught Sunday school and was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. In 1977 they moved to Perrysburg, Ohio, where they lived in abundant life and attended Zoar Lutheran Church. Margaret Ellen worked at the Holiday Park Athletic Club (then the Racquet Connection) where she cared for the children of members. It was then she began her career as a babysitter. Over the years she has taken care of over 100 children in short and long term situations. After Charles passed away, Margaret Ellen followed her daughter and son-in-law to Bloomington-Normal, Illinois where she lived for 10 years. She continued babysitting there for families from her church, Christ Lutheran and Japanese families from Diamond Star Motors. In 1995, Margaret Ellen moved back to Perrysburg and continued caring for children, including her great-grandchild, Luke. She joined Shepherd of the Valley Church and there held the honor of being the oldest member. Margaret Ellen was a wonderful, funny, thoughtful, loving and caring Mom, friend and grandmother. She will be missed by her family; daughter, Melissa (Joe) Kisandi; son, John (Mary) Kettler; grandchildren, Elise (Dave) Metzger, Kurt (Michelle) Kisandi, Karl Kettler, Kim Kettler, Joe (Kate) Messina and great-grandchildren, Dakota, Hunter, Alexis, Luke, Joshua and Lilly. Family and friends may visit Thursday from 2-8 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Visitation will continue Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Shepherd of the Valley Church in Perrysburg, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Shepherd of the Valley Church 13101 Five Point Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 or Lutheran Child & Family Service of Michigan 6019 West Side Saginaw Road P.O.
