Elaine Clarine Ketchum, 88, passed away on April 28, 2009 at 4000 Valley Square – Woodside Village, Grand Forks, ND.

Elaine was born November 20, 1920 to Ole and Mina (Ensrud) Anderson near Stump Lake in the rural Pekin, North Dakota area. After graduating from Pekin High School in 1938, Elaine moved to Grand Forks to attend Union Commercial College. Elaine served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 serving as a finance clerk stationed in Mississippi. Following her discharge she moved to Los Angeles, CA where she worked for an engineering firm which gave her the opportunity to work in Saudi Arabia. She continued to work for this company for 30 years.

Elaine married Lowell Ketchum in 1978. Following his death in 1984, Elaine moved to Minneapolis. Elaine loved to travel and has visited 82 countries. Elaine moved to Grand Forks due to failing health and spent her last years being well cared for at 4000 Valley Square – Woodside Village.

She is survived by her sister, Leonora Wisener, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.
