Esther "Hetty" Smith married Nathaniel Ketcham on December 30, 1809.
They had one child, Nathaniel Alexander Ketcham b. Nov. 24, 1810. Esther was widowed in less than a year when Nathaniel died at age 27, one month before their only child was born.
She was 35 years old 6 months and 28 days when she died in Islip, New York.
With gratitude to member TC:
After previously being married to Nathaniel Ketcham, Esther was married to Daniel Willets (ID #9907765) when she died. She was first buried with her family in the Islip Rural Cemetery and then, in the early 1900's the Islip Cemetery was closed and she and her family were moved to the Oakwood Cemetery in Bay Shore, NY (cemetery #65504) along with about 100 others. The cemetery has her documented as being buried in Cedar Section, Lot 24 as well as many others in the Smith family. There is no stone for Esther but there is one badly deteriorated stone that is suspect as hers. (The little "stub" on the far right in photo.)
