BURDEN, Marabel age 96, of Springfield, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009 in Forest Glen Nursing Home, Springfield. She was born on March 8, 1913 in Rosewood, a daughter of the late Ross A. and Elizabeth (Purk) Kessler. She married James B. Burden on November 12, 1933 and he preceded her in death on September 7, 1994. Marabel is survived by two sons. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and two on the way. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Kessler and a daughter-in-law, Karen Burden. Marabel was a 1931 graduate of St. Paris High School, she was of the Lutheran faith, and she was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6, at 10:30 a.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, N. St. Rt. 235, Conover. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
