Geneva Dais Kershaw, 63, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born March 26, 1948, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Richard Sr. and Elizabeth McLeod Dais.
She attended the public schools of Sumter County.
She confessed Christ as her savior at an early age and was united with Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Geneva was married to the late Andrew Kershaw.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her children, Elizabeth (Calvin Jr.) Oaks of Rembert, Dianthia (Vincent) Black of Bishopville and Patrick Kershaw of Rembert; two sisters, Allie (Kenneth) Gross of Bowie, Md., and Margie (Andrew) Moore of Rembert; two brothers, Richard (Mary) Dais Jr. of Rembert and Charles (Alice) Dais of Fort Washington, Md.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one aunt, Hattie Alston of Hampton, Va.; four uncles, Charles (Mary), Eugene (Doretha) and Whitt (Ruth), all of Rembert, and Norman (Thomasina) of Seat Pleasant, Md.; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Moses and McBride Dais.
Funeral services: Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, U.S. 521 North, Rembert, with the Rev. Anthony L. Taylor Sr., pastor, eulogist, assisted by Evangelist Glenda Miller, the Rev. Dr. Kimberly Ferguson and the Rev. Richard James.
Burial: Mt. Pisgah Baptist Churchyard cemetery.
