Virgie V. Boland
A funeral was held Wednesday, November 24, 2010 for 94-year-old Virgie V. Boland of Minnith who died November 21, 2010 at Ste. Genevieve Care Center in Ste. Genevieve.
She was born August 28, 1916 in Perry County, the daughter of Walter Scott and Polly Ann (Hand) Kennon who both preceded her in death.
She married Anderson Clay Boland on March 21, 1931. He preceded her in death May 31, 1974.
She is survived by four sons: Robert (Lauren) Boland of Fredericktown, Wayne (Debbie) Boland of Silver Lake, Larry (Sandy) Boland of Minnith and Dickey (Margie) Boland of Minnith; eight daughters: Vernetta (Francis) Shuh of Minnith, June (Edward) Geiler of Ste. Genevieve, Jean (Alfred) Vogt of St. Mary, Patsy Bowen of Brewer, Kathy Pittman of Perry County, Linda (Herbert) Johnson of Perry County, Gale (Cecil) Pittman of Cape Girardeau, Vickie (Felix) Winston of Anniston, Alabama; a daughter in law: Betty Boland of Minnith; 48 grandchildren; 92 great grand children; and 19 great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son; Franklin "Buck" Boland; a son in law; Jerome Pittman; a daughter in law: Evelyn Boland; a sister: Zella Clampitt; a brother; Clell Kennon and five grandchildren.
She was a home maker and a member of Brushy Bible Baptist Church.
Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010 and 6:30-10 a.m. Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral for 94-year-old Virgie V. Boland of Minnith will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. The Revs. Gary Forsythe and Jim Holifield will co-officiate.
Visitation will continue after the service on Wednesday at Brushy Bible Baptist Church for one hour.
Burial followed in the Brushy Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials to Brushy Bible Baptist Cemetery or Kidney Foundation. should be made.
