VERA K. CLIFTON "MAMAW" 1922 - 2010 Vera Clifton, age 87, of Pensacola, FL, passed away Sunday, May 16. Mamaw, as she was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was always known to everyone as a tough but very caring and sweet first class lady. She was a member of Prescott Baptist Church in Memphis, TN and was also an Eastern Star. She had an unshaken faith and a clever sense of humor, causing her to have many friends and to be a favorite in the family. Mamaw understood her family more than any of us could ever begin to, but most of all she was a cheerleader for all of our dreams and aspirations, whole-heartedly believing in each and every one of us. Now, more than ever, the aspiration is now to be more like Mamaw, to mirror the great love she left with us. She leaves behind her daughter, Barbara (Peyton, Jr.) Miller; grandchildren, Peyton Miller, III and Stacey (Andrew) Engels; great-grandchildren, Mallory Briggs, Caitlin Miller and Peyton Miller, IV. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00p.m. at the meeting room of The Riviera at 615 Bayshore Dr. in Pensacola. In lieu of flowers, please send all donations to Emerald Coast Hospice. Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
