KENNEDY, Leo Anton, 83, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2011. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne Covey Kennedy; and his son, Michael Kennedy.

He is survived by his devoted daughters, Kathleen Sharpe, Mary K. Stewart, Diane Dulik and her husband, Bob, Annette Edwards and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, David and Lee Bowles, David Stewart, Heather Gardocki and her husband, Matthew, and Charles Hubbard and his fiancee, Jaimie Mills; great-grandchildren, Coenn, Abiona, Mycah and Jasper Gardocki and Cooper Hubbard; his brother, Howard Kennedy; and family members in Kansas.

Leo retired from Kraft Diary Corporation, and dedicated his life to his family, friends and community services. He served as District Community Service Chairman of the Virginia Moose Organization until 2007. He was awarded the Top Hat Community Service Award every year during his tenure. He was most proud of starting the "night-at-the-Diamond" program to benefit the Massey Cancer Society and Veteran's Hospital Christmas Concert, as well as organizing fundraisers for the Children's Hospital, Muscular Dystrophy, the Virginia Home and Special Olympics. He earned the Pilgrim Degree for 31 years of loyalty and service to the Moose Organization. He was a devoted husband and father, passing on his legacy of love, loyalty, faith and strength.

The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bliley's- Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8200 Woodman Road, Henrico, Va. 23228. Interment will follow at Westhampton Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, or the Children's Hospital.
