Doris Kennedy a 92-year-old Trenton resident passed away at 3:15 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Blue Hills Rest home in Independence, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Trenton. Pastor Mike Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the South Evans Cemetery, north east of Trenton. Open visitation will begin after 1:00 PM on Monday at Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kennedy was born on November 12, 1922 in Trenton, MO the daughter of Prince and Mabel (Carpenter) Gates. She was married to Michael Roller Kennedy on July 28, 1940 in Trenton, MO; he preceded her in death on October 28, 1975. They owned and operated Kennedy Auto Supply.
Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her daughter, Lana Snider of Independence, MO; three grandchildren, Michael Snider and Kim, Mitchell Snider and Saleana, and Angela Snider and Tom; and two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Austin.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Gates; and a daughter, Janice Kennedy Decker.
