Ruth (Kendig) Bond died peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2010, in the presence of her husband, Rodney W. Bond, and her daughter, four days before her 69th wedding anniversary. Ruth was a resident of Normandie Ridge at the time of her death. Born July 13, 1922, Ruth was the daughter of the late John E. and Ida Mae (Warner) Kendig. Along with her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her son, Philip Ross Bond. Ruth is survived by her husband, Rodney; a daughter, Cheryl Bond Pomerantz of Storrs, Conn.; three grandchildren, Sarah, Laura, and Jacob; a sister, Mildred Kehr; and a devoted daughter-in-law, Marylou Bond. Ruth was a loving mother and wife, who enjoyed entertaining her extended family, as well a being a surrogate mother to a foreign exchange student in the 1960's. She will be missed especially by family, a sister-in-law, Anna Bond Miller, and many nieces and nephews. A family memorial service will be held at Normandie Ridge on Saturday, November 27, 2010. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grande Illumination at Normandie Ridge.
