Charles Edward Kendall died at 11:40 AM on April 3, 1987, at the Shangri-La Healthcare Center, LaFontaine.
Mr. Kendall was born on March 30, 1901, to Edward and Jennie Lee (Charles) Kendall. He married Marguerite Mattern in 1924. She preceded him in death in April 1984.
He is survived by one son, Edward Kendall, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kendall graduated from Lincolnville High School in 1918 and later received a bachelor's degree from Purdue University in civil engineering. While at Purdue, he was elected to the Contour Society (now known as Chi Epsilon) and Tau Beta Pi - both engineering honor societies. He also belonged to the Triangle Fraternity. He was an active member in the now defunct Lincolnville Conservation Club.
Mr. Kendall was a field engineer who worked on multi-story building construction. He later was a structural engineer for Hugh J. Baker & Co., Indianapolis. A registered professional engineer, he was responsible for structural designs of buildings in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Miami and Lookout Mountain, TN.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at the Hunter Funeral Home, LaFontaine, with the Rev. Douglas Barton officiating. Burial will be in the Center Grove Cemetery, Lincolnville.
