She graduated from the Rice Avenue Union High School in 1951 and attended Edinboro University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She had worked as a substitute teacher for the Girard, Fairview, Millcreek and Northwestern School districts. She was an active member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, bowling, dancing, camping and roller skating.
She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn L. Kemling.
She is survived by her husband Ernest F. Kemling Sr. of Fairview, whom she married May 31, 1953 in Girard, also a daughter Elizabeth A. Minda (David) of Saltsburg, Pa.; four sons, E. Frank Kemling Jr. (Leslie) of Langhorn, Pa., Gregory A. Kemling (Robin) of Erie, Gary L. Kemling (Debra) of Girard, Philip E. Kemling (Diane) of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Betty J. Sackett of Girard; a brother, Irving D. Sackett Jr. (Yong Hui) of Springfield, Va.; 12 grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
