ORANGE -- A private military committal service was held on Friday, April 16, 2010, in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol, for Albert E. Kelton, 76, of 15 School St., who died on Sept. 24, 2009, at Athol Memorial Hospital, following an illness, with Fr. Fred Fraini III from Holy Rosary in Gardner officiating.
Military honors were provided by the Westover Honor Guard, with Sgt. John Masaitis presenting the American flag to his wife, Georgia.
Born on Oct. 8, 1932, in Orange, he was a son of Albert H. and Eliza (Twitchell) Kelton and grew up in Orange.
Al served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from Dec. 28, 1951, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 17, 1955.
Albert was married to Georgia (Walker) and the couple had enjoyed 40 years together at the time of his death.
Albert Kelton was predeceased by a sister, Ella Marshall.
Employed by the Rodney Hunt Company in Orange, he had also worked many years at the former U.T.D. in Athol, as well as at companies in the Worcester and Greenfield areas.
He loved to watch Mahar sports, along with fishing and watching the New York Yankees on TV.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Kelton of Orange; daughters, Kelly, Leanne, Julia, and Megan; three grandchildren, Kristine, Victoria, and Angelina; a brother, Eugene Kelton; and a sister, Ella Marshall.
Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange, was honored with directing the arrangements.
