Donna D. Emery, 84 of Lincoln, died Wednesday August 25, 2010. Mrs. Emery was born Donna Drene Kelly on October 2, 1925 to Clyde and Ella (Thompson) Kelly in Cambridge, Neb. Donna was a graduate of Lincoln High School and the St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing. She loved to spend time with friends and family either playing cards, bowling, sewing, or playing golf. She also loved to watch Husker Football games.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle; daughters, Barbara Otto (Sheldon) of Spencer, Neb., Judy Dosek (Scott) of Paradise Valley, Ariz., Joyce Thomas of Lincoln; grandchildren, Jason Dosek of Scottsdale, Ariz., Justin Otto of Asheville, N.C., Kelly Ellis of Norfolk, Neb., Amanda Goddard of Lincoln, Nicholas Thomas of Huntington Beach, Calif. and Lindsey Emery of Lincoln; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Lyle "Kit" and Stephanie Emery; sisters, Evelyn Kelly and Gwen Helzer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Northeast Community Church, 6200 Adams Street, Lincoln 68507. Rev. Melissa Finlaw-Draper will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in the First Plymouth Church niche. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 'A' Street, Lincoln 68510. The family will be present from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to greet friends. Memorials are suggested to the Sesostris Shrine Transportation Fund.
