Bettie Juanita Appleby Kelly, 76, of Waco, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, at a local hospital surrounded by her family. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Waco Memorial Park, with the Rev. Cary Killough officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr.
Bettie was born to Edward B. Appleby and Viola Gretzner Appleby. After graduating from high school, she attended college and became an apartment manager. She was a member of the Altrusa Club and several other management organizations. She was also a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church.
Bettie was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her son, Mike Daughtry and wife, Marsha, of Waco; grandsons, Mike Daughtry, Jr. and Philip Daughtry, both of Waco; great-granddaughter, Kamryn Hanna, also of Waco; brother, Edward H. Appleby and wife, Patricia, of Rockville, Md.; nephew, Shawn Appleby, of Dallas; and several cousins.
