Maggie Kelly

Maggie Merrick Kelly, wife of James G Kelly passed away April 23 at her home in Allerton at the age of 74 years.

She was born at Powersville, Mo., a daughter of Christopher and Sarah (Reed) Merrick. In 1912 she was united in marriage to James G. Kelly of Allerton. To this union one daughter, Carol, was born.

Surviving are her husband; Daughter, Carol Steiner; son-in-law J. L. Steiner; granddaughter, Judith Steiner; three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Blanche Duncan of Allerton, Mrs. E. E. Krousch of Lake View, Mrs. Bernie Schofield of St. Joseph, Mo., Harry Merrick of Allerton and Reed Merrick of Humeston, and many nieces and nephews and friends.

During her life she was active in P.E.O., Rebekah lodge and community and church affairs.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Randolph Funeral home in Allerton, with the Rev. Bonnie Rateike officiating. Mrs. D. M. Crawford played the piano and accompanied Mrs. Arthur Swanson and Mrs. Carolyn Harberts who sang favorite hymns. Pallbearers were Don Duncan, Pearl Bracewell, Gail Harnden, Gail Richardson, Billy Goodyear and Billy Davis. Burial was in the Allerton cemetery.
