|Birth: ||Feb. 29, 1948|
|Death: ||Jan. 15, 1992|
Paul was born on February 29th, 1948 (leap year) in Phoenix, AZ, to Joe and Andrena Kellwood.
Paul spent most of his life in Sunnyslope, AZ. He attended Most Holy Trinity Catholic School where he was an Altar Boy. In 1963 he went to Sunnyslope High School and on May 17th, 1968 he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in San Diego, CA.
On March 9, 1969, he was seriously wounded in Viet Nam; he lost his left leg and spleen and had shrap metal throughout his back and arm. On September 23rd, 1969 he received an Honorable discharge from the service. He returned home, married his sweetheart and had six beautiful children: Paul Jr., Richard & Joe (twins), Jesse, Tommy & Michelle (twins).
In January 1992 Paul had pneumonia which shouldn't have been fatal but it was because he had lost his spleen (which purifies the body). He died at John C. Lincoln Hospital in Sunnyslope on January 15, 1992.
He is missed by all of us: His sisters: Connie & Cathy and brothers: Robert (Bob) and David, as well as, his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many good friends.
He is especially missed by his father, Joe Kellwood. Our Mother passed away on November 27th, 2004. We know that Paul was waiting in Heaven to be with our Mother again.
Our father served in the U.S. Marine Corps in WWII and was one of the Navajo Code Talkers who was presented the Silver Congressional Medal on November 24, 2001 in Window Rock, AZ. This is an event that Paul would have attended, but knowing Paul, he was there in spirit and proudly standing with us as our father received this Medal.
We love and miss him so much.
