Dr. Bruce Kelley Bridgewater Bulletin

Dr.Bruce Kelley, one of Bridgewater's leading citizens, died early Tuesday morning, following an illness of only four days. Death was due to heart complications.

News of his passing was received with profound regret among his many friends who mourn the loss of one of the South Shore's most widely known practitioners.

It was the second time within a month that Bridgewater was called upon to mourn the death of a member of the medical profession, the passing having occurred recently of Dr. Duncan Campbell.

A son of the late Dr.and Mrs. Frederick Kelley, Dr. Kelley was born in Chester. He was educated in the Bridgewater High School, at St. Andrew's School at Annapolis, Waddell's Private Preparatory School, and Dalhousie University, Halifax, and the Baltimore Dental College. He graduated from the later institution in 19?2.

Dr. Kelley first began practising in Shelburne, and at the outbreak of the World War, he volunteered for service in the Canadian Dental Corps and attained the rank of Major. While overseas he married Miss Margaret Dibblee, R.N., of Woodstock, New Brunswick, who had also volunteered for war service.

Following the war, Dr. Kelley practised in Bridgewater. He was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church and of the Bridgewater Curling and Golf Clubs.

Surviving are his widow, and son, William; and also one brother, Rex, of Bridgewater. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon from Holy Trinity Church, Rev. G.W. Bullock officiating. The Bridgewater Branch of the Canadian Legion attended in a body.

Interment was at Brookside Cemetery.
