Lorraine M. Faber, of Old Saybrook passed away on Saturday afternoon February 20, 2010 at Peregrine Landing in Clinton. She was the beloved wife of the late John Robert Faber.
Lorraine was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on March 26, 1929 the daughter of the late Cornelius and Anna Marie (Vesper) Kelleher. She had worked for the New York City Board of Education on Staten Island and also in the retail hat department at Macys.
As a 20 year resident of Old Saybrook, Lorraine was a member and former President of the Old Saybrook Women's Club, a member of the Old Saybrook Historical Society and volunteered at Old Saybrook High School and at the Shoreline Soup Kitchen and Pantries. She was a communicant at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine E. Faber-Loftus and her husband Peter, and her grandchildren, Katherine, Will, and John all of Madison. Besides her husband John, she was predeceased by her son, John N. Faber.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 26, 2010 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street, in Essex at 10 am. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Essex.
