CARAWAY — Mrs. Debra Lynn Kelems, 51, of Caraway died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at her home after a brave battle with cancer.
Mrs. Kelems was born April 6, 1958, in Lepanto to Leo and Louis (Shashteen) Stallings. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Manila, a 1976 graduate of Caraway High School and a longtime resident of Caraway.
Mrs. Kelems was a hairdresser and a Head Start teacher. She loved children, and her favorite hobby was singing gospel songs with her husband.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Roy Kelems of Caraway; two sons, Shaun Kelems and wife Dawn of Caraway and Dustin Kelems and his wife Erin of Jonesboro; her parents of Caraway; one brother, Kenny Stallings of Caraway; and one sister, Patricia Stone of Caraway; six grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church in Manila with the Rev. Waymon Holt officiating. Burial will follow at the Caraway Cemetery in Caraway.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Manila. Faith Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Antwan Horton, Jon Kelems, Bobby Sands, Larry Diddo, Chris Kelems, Jason Kelems, Brad Stone, Jammie Stone and Shannon Kelems.
