NORFOLK - Man killed in I-564 hit-and-run
A 50-year-old New Jersey man was killed in a hit-and-run accident on I-564 south at the Terminal Boulevard exit ramp in Norfolk on Saturday at 2 a.m., a police spokeswoman said.
The driver of a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle was attempting to exit the ramp, dropped the bike and fell off, said Sgt. Michelle Anaya, a spokeswoman for Virginia State Police. While another rider attempted to help him up, a car ran over him.
James W. Keith Jr., 50, died at the scene, Anaya said. The unknown vehicle didn't stop.
After further investigation, the unknown vehicle was determined to be a dark-colored, four-door Chevrolet Cobalt, Anaya said in an email.
Anyone with information is asked to call Virginia State Police.
