She retired from First United Methodist Church where she worked for many years.
Blackshire was a member of First Baptist Church of Lima and served in the Missionary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rayford Houston; her parents; four brothers, Henry, Joe, Bozie and Clarence Keesee; and two sisters, Mary Bruner and Lela Mae Harper.
She is survived by one daughter, Mildred Blackshire; one sister, Margretta Douglas of Claborne Texas; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren
