Matthew was the youngest of 10 children born to Thomas and Mary Ann Carberry Keegan. Never married he lived with a brother, John, and sister, Margaret,and worked for 47 yrs at the Alexander Smith and Sons Carpet Co. His obit in the Yonkers Herald Statesman has his age at 67 but he was in fact 71.
