"on Dec. 30, 1911, she married Norman Hope here. They had lived in this area with the exception of nine years, from 1916 to 1925, spent in San Francisco. Mr. Hope is well-known as a rancher, raising purebred Hereford cattle.
"Mrs. Hope's paternal grandparents came here in 1849 and settled the area north of Sandy Gulch. They had a flour mill on Cohasset Road. Her father was born at Keefer Station near the old Rock Creek Post Office.
"Her mother's parents came here from Switzerland in 1846 and settled in the Butt Creek area in Plumas County. They still have ranch holdings there.
"She is survived by her husband, Norman Hope; her mother, Mrs. Mary Keefer of Chico; and an aunt, Mrs. Blanche Bennett of Chico, and several cousins.
"Services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in the Case Funeral Chapel with interment in the family plot in Chico Cemetery."
