Marie E. Atlee, 82, of Genoa, Illinois, a loving mother and grandmother, died Sunday, November 5, 2000 at her home. She was born August 13, 1918 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin the daughter of Richard and Elsie (Reichert) Kearney. She married Lloyd Losey, who died in 1950, then married Glenn E. Atlee who died in 1975. She was an employee of GTE Automatic for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1980 to enjoy her love of family and her love of reading. She was a member of St. Catherine of Genoa and a member of the St. Laura Unit of Altar and Rosary Society of the church.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald L. (Mary) Losey, Thomas A. (Fay) Losey all of Genoa; four sisters, Crystal Land and her friend Robert Kraus of Nashville, Tennessee, Lillian Rusin of Genoa, Lucille (Ted) Bujalski of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Marsella (Harvey) Dillon of Pecatonica; a brother, Richard (Diane) Kearney of Genoa; five grandchildren, Russell (Sherry) Barber, Tona Lampkin, Tricia (Jeff) Armstrong, Tina M. Losey, Thomas P. (Debbie) Losey; and great grandchildren, Megan and Rachel Barber, Jordan and Austin Armstrong, David and Tasha Carson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three brothers, Harold, Patrick, and Michael Kearney.

A funeral mass will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8th in St. Catherine of Genoa Church with The Reverend Fr. Al Neumann, celebrating. Visitation will be at Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in St. Catherine Cemetery. A memorial fund is established for the DeKalb County Hospice in care of Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., P. O. Box 251, Genoa, IL 60135.
