William H. Kearney, a member of the Soldiers Home at Burkett, passed away at that institution at about 9 p.m. Friday, following a brief illness, death resulting from apoplexy and heart failure. He was aged 73 years, 2 months and 10 days. Definite arrangements for the funeral have not been made, pending word from relatives.

The funeral of William H. Kearney, who passed away at the Soldiers Home, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday from the First Christian church, Rev. C. E. Knapp officiating. Interment will be made in the Grand Island cemetery.

William H. Kearney married Mrs. Abigail A. Ingrahm (nee Tice) 31 Dec 1904 as recorded in Hall County, NE Marriage Book 7, p. 254

List of Civil War veterans buried in Nebraska says he served with Co. F of the 136th IL Infantry whereas his headstone stated he served with Co. D of the 155th IL Infantry.
