Son of Thomas Keairns and Ida Parks.

John R. Keairns
John R., oldest son of Thomas and Ida Keairns, was born Oct. 15, 1879, in Scioto county, Ohio, and departed this life Jan. 11, 1904, aged 24 years, 3 months, and 16 days. Though he never belonged to any church, he led an honorable and upright life, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him.
He was married Oct. 16, 1901 to Miss Minnie K. Davis, of Jackson county, Ohio. He was a good neighbor, a dutiful son, an affectionate husband and a fond father.
In him the community loses a good citizen, and his family, a loved one whose place can never be filled. He enjoyed good health until April, 1903, then began a long period of suffering, bravely borne. He never murmured nor complained during all his illness, and said though he would like to live to care for his family, he had no fear of death, as he had always tried to do his best. He was noted for his industry and duty to his parents and family. None knew him but to love and esteem him. He leaves, both parents, two brothers, one sister, a beloved wife, an infant son and a host of friends to mourn their loss. We feel that we are as faithful to our trust as he was to his, we will meet him in the land where death and suffering will be no more, and where family and friends will be united.
