Freeda Goodman Kaufman, 85, of Boise, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at a local hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Collister Community Church, 4709 W. State St. Pastor Lynn Corbett will officiate. A viewing for family and friends will be held today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Chapel of the Chimes, Meridian.
Freeda was born Oct. 11, 1914, at Billings, Montana, to Henry and Kate (Glantz) Goodman. The family lived in Billings, Montana, and Sheridan, Wyoming. She met Daniel Kaufman and was married in 1935. They settled in the Boise area in 1958.
Freeda was a lifetime member of the Western Riding Club. She loved sewing, crocheting, and dancing at the Senior Center. She especially loved gardening and taking care of her flowers. She was also a member of the Collister Community Church.
Freeda is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Ron) Dailey of Sheridian, Wyoming, Carol (Monte) Logan of Middleton, Nancy (Harley) Brown of Tacoma, Washington, and Peggy (Leland) Cantrell of Boise; two brothers, Walt (Phyllis) Goodman, Bill (Norma) Goodman; three sisters, Helen (Robert) Kramer, Rachel Schmidt, Rose (John) Zowada, all of Wyoming; sister-in-law, Victoria Goodman of Idaho Falls; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; two grandsons; three granddaughters; two sisters; and two brothers.
