Anna (Lender) Katz, 87, of 200 Kendall St., a registered pharmacist and poet, died on Wednesday at home.
She taught at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. Earlier, she was a skilled worker in a research laboratory.
She was born in Russia, moved here as an infant, and lived in Boston before moving to Israel in 1951. She moved to New York state in 1969, and returned here in 1970.
She attended local schools, and was a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston.
She was a published poet, and acted in local repertory with the Center Players and the Longmeador Anchor Players.
She was active in study groups at the Kodimoh Synagogue. She received a certificate from the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children for her work in teaching the young patients to increase their academic development.
Her husband, Yoseff Katz, died in 1970.
She leaves a brother, Albert Lender of Auburndale, and a friend, Marion Krasnor of Springfield.
The funeral will be this afternoon at Harold R. Ascher & Son Memorial Chapel, with burial in Sons of Israel Cemetery . Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
