Bruce A. Karnath, 86, 905 W. Fourth St., Mosinee, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Weston.
He was born Oct. 28, 1920, in East Troy, the son of the late Albert and Sylvia (Spaar) Karnath. He married Joyce Meyer on Dec. 28, 1946, in Ashland. She survives.

He taught at East Troy High School from 1942 to 1944, and then at Mosinee High School from 1944 until his retirement in 1983. Bruce was a beloved husband to his wife, Joyce, of 60 years and a devoted father and grandfather. He was a member of the Mosinee Lodge 318 F.&A.M. Free and Accepted Masons; member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Right 32nd Degree Valley of Eau Claire; a lifetime member of the Mosinee Lions Club; an active member of United Methodist Church, Mosinee; and was also active in community volunteer work.
Survivors, besides his wife, Joyce, include a son, Alan (Mary Jo) Karnath, Menomonee Falls; a daughter, Jill Karnath Lemke, Shorewood; six grandchildren, Melissa, Melanie, Nicole and Roger Karnath, and Elizabeth and Rebecca Lemke; a sister, Janice (Francis) Brady, East Troy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice.
A Masonic service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007, at United Methodist Church, Mosinee, followed by a Christian memorial service. The Rev. James Verkest will officiate. Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. Sunday until time of services at the church.
Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bruce's name can be directed to the United Methodist Church Building Fund.
